Eliza broke. She sat on the ground in a sobbing heap. "I-I'm sorry. I'm such a fool. I've just caused you more problems then I'm worth." She said. In her arms she hugged the orb, but didn't tell him how much it meant to her to have a way to communicate with him whenever she really needed, or vice versa. Oh, what a mess she was. Suddenly a thought came to her. "You plan on leaving now, don't you?" She asked quietly, not looking at him.

I shrug. "Eh, I could leave at anytime. I'm still gonna wait a few minutes to be on the safe side, just in case Haku decided to stick around for a little while longer". I then look at her with more focus. "Do YOU plan on leaving now?"

Eliza shook her head. "No. I don't plan on leaving before you." She said without emotion. She looked up at him for a moment. Her eyes were blank, her cheeks red but she had stopped crying. Eliza had crashed and burned, her emotions had worn herself down to her core. Her face was as blank as her eyes. "If Haku attacks you I'm defending you with my life. If he does manage... I'll train until one day I can avenge you." She vowed, but she held no emotion anywhere.

"Thanks for the thought, I feel reassured". I smile, but I knew in the back of my mind that there was a great possibility that if she tried to protect me, she'd die as well.

Eliza still held her blank face. "Good." Was all she said. As if reading his mind, she added, "I'm not as weak as you might think." She said, blinking. She was really thinking about how Haku had acted.

"Oh? Good to know". I was slightly relieved but then I began to wonder just how strong she was in that case.

Eliza grumbled an inaudible response. She stared at the ceiling of the cave, seeming to study it. She suddenly looked back at Tom. "I'm hungry." She said plainly, without any meaning.

I jumped. "Uh...okay then..." I didn't know what to do, I had the blood extraction device in my pocket, but I didn't want to use it in front of her, especially after getting a lot of blood out through it already.

Eliza looked at him. "You are not cutting yourself again. I've had enough to last until tomorrow." "I hope." She added in her mind. "It'll be uncomfortable but I'll be fine." She said, looking back up at the ceiling.

"Oh...okay". I sigh with relief. "Well...I think it's been long enough, I'm headed out now". I try walking but I stumble, apparently I needed a little more time to recover from the blood withdrawal.

Eliza jumped up and caught him when he stumbled. She finally showed emotion on her face, but it was sadness. Once he was steadied she sat back down against the wall. "I'll stay here... When I go monster I won't hurt anyone up here." She said, again her face returning blank, her voice following suit. She looked at Tom. "Goodbye Tom." She said.

Eliza sighed heavily, and the second he left she started bawling. After a little while she stopped and fell asleep. When she awoke her eyes were blood red and she dashed into the forest. 3 deer lost their lives, and Eliza then cleaned herself off. She kept the orb with her, and set out to find Tom again.
