Eliza laughed at his comment. "Well you better this time. Your stomach is really loud." She purred, smiling brightly. She rested her elbows on the table and her head on her hands, looking around the shop.

Eliza laughed with him, then raised her hand to hail a waiter, who soon showed up. "What would two love birds like?" She asked, and Eliza blushed. "Uh, uh, we are just friends! Just friends..." She looked at Tom for support, blushing heavily.

The waitress put her hands up in surrender. "Whatever you say, what can I get you?" She asked, and Eliza waved her hand, signaling that she'd pass. "I'll get something later." She said, and the waitress turned to Tom.

The waitress wrote it down and smiled. "Coming right up." She said, then walked off to the kitchen. Eliza looked at Tom sheepishly. "That was awkward." She giggled, her gentle eyes searching the store for any dangers.

Eliza froze when he asked. "No, just looking for anyone or anything dangerous. Habit since... That day." She explained, still searching, still on guard.

"Suppose that makes sense, I'm always on guard as well, just in case a certain person decides to show up..." As I say that I quickly scan the place with my eyes.

Eliza laughed. "At least you know who you're searching for. I have to watch everyone, never know who might turn on me..." She said, then looked at Tom. She shook her head, then looked back at the crowd. "You're the first person I've trusted since Casper and my parents." She breathed, not looking at him.

Eliza looked back at him. "When I first started out on my own, I was attacked, barely able to survive. I don't know if it was by the same people who killed my family, it might have been. They only seemed to want to get closer to me, to be my friend; they were so kind. But they literally stabbed me in the back. You only seemed to want to get away from me. The opposite of what that bastard did. Plus, you were given the chance to kill me in the ally, but you didn't." She explained, sighing.

I cringe. "Sounds rough...as for myself, I'm just not the kind of guy to go around killing people, even though I have the power to do so".

Eliza's eyebrow went up. "Really? Never would have guessed..." She said, the looked at him intently. "Would you have killed me if I tried to bite you against your will?" She asked, curious.

Eliza breathed out in a sigh of relief. "So it wouldn't have come to it, because I most certainly would not have tried to kill you. I don't kill. I'd sooner kill myself." She explained, finally deciding the store was safe and returned her full attention to Tom.

Eliza chuckled. "I hope I was clear enough about that." She said, then her expression turned thoughtful. "If you knew that I wouldn't hurt you, why were you scared? It doesn't make sense to me." She asked, tilting her head slightly.

I thought the humans I fed on were scared because they were afraid to die, but you knew I wouldn't hurt you. Why be scared then?" She asked, her eyes looking into his.

I tilt my head. "In all seriousness...I don't know. I was just overcome by some fear that I couldn't do much of anything...perhaps it was a psychological thing or something". I shrug.

Eliza thought about it for a moment. "Probably... I hate it when they are scared... Reminds me of my brothers face as the door was knocked down. And with your similarities... I couldn't take it." She explained, looking a little frustrated.

I tried to reassure her. "Don't worry about it". I then look around to see if the waiter was coming with the food I had ordered.

Eliza sighed heavily, ignoring her hunger. Two failed hunting trips, she hadn't eaten since the bar... What, a few days ago? The waitress came back with a steaming bowl of pasta and placed it in front of Tom. "Sure I can't get you anything doll?" She asked Eliza, who shook her head. "No, but thank you." She said politely. "Ok..." The waitress said and walked off. Eliza groaned thinking about how long it had been since she has fed, tapping her fingers on the table.
